I use this workout when the gym is closed, and I have to get my workout done in a pinch!
This workout focuses on core strength so if you’re looking to build some abs this summer, this workout is for you!
Please note: This is a tough workout that requires balance and some agility so if difficult to do, just perform the exercises on the floor. Feel free to step up the work with the stool whenever you’re ready!
You’ll need the following items for these exercises:
Step stool- preferably one with a wide, square, flat surface
Towel for comfort
Floor Mat (if necessary)
Warm up with Step ups
Step on with one leg then pull your body up and put other foot on the stool then step off stool. Repeat with the other leg. Do this back and forth for 2 minutes straight.
Tricep Dips
Sit on the stool then stretch your legs out with your arms holding your weight then dip down until your glutes touches or gets close to touching the floor. Repeat for 2 minutes.
Sit ups
Balance your back on the stool then shoot your legs out and the rest of your body upwards towards the ceiling while your arms are behind your head. Repeat for 3 minutes.
Bicycle sit ups
Balance your back on the stool with your knees bent, feet in the air and hands behind your head. Bring your knees toward your chest. Straighten your left leg out, pressing away from you, while lifting your upper body and repeat with the other leg like you’re cycling. Repeat for 2 minutes.
Torso twists
Balance on the stool with feet about an inch off the floor then twist your body as you slightly kick your legs in the opposite direction. Then repeat in the other direction. Repeat this for 2 minutes.
Kick backs
Put the towel on top of the stool then balance both hands on the stool with one leg on the stool while the other leg pushes up towards the ceiling. Keep kicking on the same leg for 2 minutes then switch to the other leg and repeat for 2 minutes.
Push ups
Finish the workout with your hands on each side of the the stool while you hold the stool in front or ahead of you while your legs are straight out in a vertical direction. Push up then down as far as you can. This one is very tough but effective. Do this for 1 minute then rest for 30 seconds. Then repeat for 1 minute.
Repeat the whole sequence again!!
Then you’re all done! :)
