Cryo T-Shock and Coolsculpting both generate cryolipolysis, but each machine has it’s own technique in which to deliver fat loss.

With Coolsculpting, the treated area or excess fat, is pulled into an oblong shaped suction cup known as the applicator then a vacuum applies suction and cold to the treated area. Once treatment is activated, you sit there unattended for the next 45 minutes. As the treatment wraps, the oblong shape in most cases, has left the area hardened, swollen, tender, potentially bruised and numb or red. Indeed, it will also take up to 3 months to see results and if the affected area doesn’t heal properly, one has a higher chance to become afflicted with Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), or a hardening of dead fat cells and gradual enlargement of affected fat cells, due to extreme cold temperatures held on one isolated area for too long and the body’s potential inability to flush those fat cells effectively through your liver and lymphatic system. PAH is treatable but only through means of invasive, surgical liposuction. Likewise, Coolsculpting has been known to create fat collecting or shelving, in other areas due to the suction so it’s a consideration when thinking about undergoing Coolsculpting.

As for the Cryo T-Shock, the technology of both heat and cold are utilized to perform thermal shock to the fat cells. A flat, hand-held wand is applied to produce this thermal shock effect, which aids in the process of not only breaking down fat cells but also helping your body to eliminate those fat cells more effectively. Due to the nature of the wand’s shape, there is no pulling or suctioning of the skin. Certainly, a Cryo T-Shock practitioner is present for the entire treatment to avoid and heavily minimize the potential risk of freezing that occurs in PAH as well as ensuring your comfort throughout the treatment. In terms of results, Cryo T-Shock is known to produce an immediate effect and more treatments can be performed; every 10-14 days as opposed to every 3 months with Coolsculpting.

Also, the Cryo T-Shock works with a much wider surface of an 8” x 10” area, not solely one, small suctioned area, demonstrating the machine’s flexibility to treat virtually any area of concern. Also, the Cryo T-Shock can be used to perform a myriad of other functions on the skin that is not possible with Coolsculpting. Moreover, a Cryo T-Shock treatment is much more cost effective as it’s only $350 per session (5 sessions on an area may run up to $1750), whereas Coolsculpting typically costs upwards of $3000-4000 per area so it’s double the price with less functionality and versatility.

Why Viva Cryo uses Cryo T-Shock therapy
In my time, I have explored and experienced many different types of lipolysis machines and the Cryo T-Shock is the best for cryolipolysis. This is an award-winning machine that offers immediate results and can do so much more than producing solely fat loss- safely and effectively. It can perform anything from facial rejuvenation to muscle relaxation; tissue stimulation to lymphatic drainage and even has multiple functionalities for cellulite reduction. I tried it on myself and I was captivated. Indeed, it led to the opening of Viva Cryo. :)
